When Silence Responds

The exhibition revolved around listening, silence, and the contemplative.
We live in a society where silence and listening seem to be increasingly difficult to find, despite the fact that they are something we deeply long for.
Listening can be an active act. Perhaps we can listen not only with our ears, but also with our eyes and our hearts – and in doing so, become more attentive to the world around us and to our kinship with all living things.

All my life I have been drawn to the ways we listen to and sense the world. There is so much noise around us, and such a deep need to listen more fully, to make room for ourselves, for one another, and for that which is more than human. We are called to recognize how profoundly dependent we are, how intimately connected to all that lives. We are called to lean into silence, to listen closely, and to attend to the answers that may emerge.
